Four Sugar Pines

At first glance the mountain pine forests look a homogeneous green mass, but you quickly see how various and complex it is. This is one of a series observing the characteristics of different species. Sugar Pines are not just the tallest, they are sweet too - in the Sierras, Black Bears eat their oily seeds all fall.
